Erectile dysfunction medications seized in Glengormley

Large quantities of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health authorities during a search of a house in Glengormley.

A man was talked to by department officers about unlawfully importing and consequently providing unlicensed impotence medicines through the internet.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offences.

He will now be the of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, stated: "It is essential that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be dangerous.

"These kinds of items being offered, usually online, have actually gone through no quality control and there can be no guarantee about their safety.

"You just do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More significantly, you do not understand the impact drugs like this might have on your health."
